Overview

Longtail Analytics is Aaron Pitt's analytics and AI consulting practice. This policy explains what information is collected when you use this website, contact Aaron, run a free diagnostic tool, or connect a Google Analytics account to the dashboard.

The short version: the tools collect only the information needed to run the diagnostic or dashboard you asked for. Longtail Analytics does not sell your Google Analytics data, and does not use it for advertising.

Information Collected

Depending on how you use the site, Longtail Analytics may collect:

• Contact details you submit, such as your name, email address, company, and message.
• Diagnostic tool inputs, such as a website URL, domain, selected goal, optional email address, and generated audit or graph results.
• Knowledge graph inputs, such as text, URLs, or documents you choose to submit for analysis.
• Basic technical and usage information, such as browser storage values, session identifiers, referral paths, and standard Cloudflare hosting logs.

Google Analytics Access

If you connect Google Analytics, Longtail Analytics requests the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly. This allows the dashboard to list available GA4 properties and display selected reports from the property you choose.

The site does not request permission to edit, delete, or manage your Google Analytics account. Google Analytics access tokens are stored in a secure, HTTP-only cookie for the dashboard session and are not stored in the Longtail Analytics database. Using the dashboard logout clears that cookie.

How Information Is Used

Information is used to:

• Provide the free tools, diagnostics, dashboards, and shareable profiles you request.
• Respond to messages, consultation requests, or follow-up questions.
• Improve the clarity, reliability, and usefulness of the website and tools.
• Protect the site from abuse, spam, or technical misuse.

Service Providers

Longtail Analytics uses trusted service providers to operate the site: Cloudflare for hosting, Pages Functions, D1 storage, and Workers AI; Google APIs when you connect Google Analytics; and Web3Forms for contact form delivery.

Submitted knowledge graph content may be processed with Cloudflare Workers AI to produce extracted and inferred graph relationships.

Google API Limited Use

Longtail Analytics' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google Analytics data is used to render the dashboard experience you requested and is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train generalized AI models.

Your Choices

• You can use most public pages without connecting Google Analytics.
• You can disconnect the dashboard by using the dashboard logout link.
• You can revoke Google access from your Google Account permissions page.
• You can request deletion of diagnostic profile data by emailing Aaron.

Retention And Security

Contact messages and diagnostic profiles are kept only as long as useful for responding to you, maintaining the tools, or running the consulting practice. Google Analytics dashboard cookies are short-lived session cookies. Reasonable technical safeguards are used, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
